We are pleased to announce our newest artist, Arielle Zamora.
Arielle Zamora (b.1990) is a Portland, Oregon-based painter and printmaker. Her painting practice features layers of paint and joint compound as an exploration of line and form. These mathematically-informed, hand-carved patterns contrast with softer elements like subtle color and chance imperfections in her ground to create unexpectedly tender ruminations on shape. She is intensely drawn to relationships between line and form, and she draws inspiration from architecture and its surroundings to help assign structure, repetition, and function to the two dimensional plane.
Arielle's collection kicks off with three original paintings which are abstract and minimalistic in style. "Arielle brings a really stunning body of work to the Sorelle collection," says Sorelle owner, Sandy. "Her paintings are minimalistic in composition, but her palettes wholly unique, and the texture in her work is subtle but impactful. For work that has so many subtleties, they really grab and hold the attention of a viewer."
Additional paintings will be added to Arielle's collection in coming months. To shop her original paintings and prints, view her collection here.
