"For me, a painting is a visual poem. The narrative use of subtle cues of color, texture, and composition present a familiar person, place or object in a fresh way, allowing the viewer to pause, dream, reflect. Perhaps memories awaken and senses stir. Perhaps, if only for a moment, as the viewer ‘reads’ the painting, present time succumbs to imagination and reverie." – Miranda Girard
