About Stephanie Johnson
Artist Statement
"I create and live at Far Fields Farm in Washington, Connecticut — in a home that has been in the family for four generations. I am privileged to have a beautiful and inspiring setting in which to paint and raise my three boys. Life is messy, but alongside the chaos, I try to be creative every day.
My professional foray into the arts began with a BFA in Graphic Design followed by a career in packaging design. After having children and stepping away from the professional art world, I realized that my creativity needed an outlet. Inspired by the scenery of Litchfield County, I began this very rewarding journey in painting.
Creating art sharpens my attention as I enjoy living my life in this beautiful part of the world. I notice the light, the passing of the seasons, and the weather changing from dramatic to sublime and back. These rich, meaningful moments connect us with the earth; and I hope are reflected in my paintings."
