Stanley Bate’s body of work from the 1960’s and 1970’s is flexible in that it often suits both modern and more traditional spaces. This living room filled with warm wood built-ins and a square-format space above the mantle was a perfect spot for one of Bate’s modern paintings, which creates a beautiful focal point at the center of the room without feeling out of place.
