"My work is an exploration of both the natural world and the inner self—through florals, seascapes, and abstract expressionism. I’m drawn to the dynamic energy of the New England coastline, where rugged rocks, shifting sands, and the constant pulse of the surf offer a profound sense of both grounding and freedom. Similarly, in my floral paintings, I embrace the delicate yet fierce beauty of nature, capturing flowers not just in form, but in essence—where every brushstroke becomes a living gesture.
"I paint with a loose, expressive approach, driven by an impulse to make marks that mirror the energy of the world around me. The abstract expressionist movement has deeply influenced my work, inspiring me to create large-scale canvases where I engage in a dialogue with my materials—acrylics, inks, and other mixed media—allowing each mark to evolve organically and intuitively.
"Music plays a crucial role in my creative process. When I listen to powerful, electric music and enter a meditative state, something magical happens. These moments of free-flowing, uninhibited painting allow my work to take on a life of its own, as I trust the process and let emotion lead. Whether I’m capturing the energy of a flower or the movement of the ocean, surrendering to the rhythm of my brushstrokes allows me to fully express myself.
"Painting has become both an escape and a form of therapy. Over the years, it has served as a vital release from the challenges of my personal life—particularly in caring for my husband, who has been ill for many years. Through this process, I’ve discovered that art is not just an outlet for emotion, but a space where I can explore the wild beauty of the world and the depth of my inner landscape—both of which continue to provide endless inspiration.
