We are pleased to welcome our new artist, Mary Gaspar. Based in Illinois, Mary is an abstract painter, most often painting in watercolor, acrylic, and sumi ink.  Mary is a mom of three, a former actress and Minted artist.

In addition to being a Minted artist, Mary's work has been featured in Domino Magazine, Architectural Digest, Property Brothers, and People Magazine. Three of her 'plant cell' paintings were also featured in a gallery wall styled by Orlando Soria for Southern Charm star, Shep Rose.

Mary Gaspar is an abstract watercolor and acrylic painter from Chicago, Illinois. She painted at the Evanston Art Center throughout her youth and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois. Her abstract “Plant Cell” pieces derived from a “post baby fog” and the need to create work that portrays connection.

Mary paints in her home studio in Wilmette, Illinois where she lives with her husband, three young daughters and border collie. When she’s not painting, you can find her in her garden.

"I find the composition first and then the painting reveals herself to me through layers of water, color and texture, in a composed symphony," Mary says. "In creating a painting I am pursuing the duality in things, light and dark, calm and chaos, the perfect connection with imperfect lines, the raw strangeness and familiar bonds."

You can get a glimpse inside Mary's workspace and learn about her artistic process via our Inside the Studio interview with Mary on the blog. Explore her collection of abstract artwork here, or contact us for more information.
