We are pleased to announce our summer exhibition, Quiet Moments, which pairs work by contemporary coastal realist painter, Daniel Pollera, with energetic abstract paintings by artist Kelly Rossetti.
From July 10 through August 1, 2021, Dan Pollera's and Kelly Rossetti's artwork will be on display at Sorelle Gallery in downtown Westport, Connecticut. To open the exhibition, a Reception and Artist Meet & Greet will be held from 3:00 - 5:00pm on July 10th. Both Dan and Kelly will be in attendance and available to speak with visitors about their work and creative processes. Wine by Scout & Cellar will also be available.
Daniel Pollera was born in Freeport, New York. From a young age, he gravitated toward drawing and painting the surrounding coastline of Long Island. Now, Daniel splits his time between his home in East Quogue and Baldwin Harbor, Long Island. These two places offer him inspiration which is the catalyst for his work. “I look for a dramatic setting, filled with light to draw awareness to the image.” The light in his coastal scenes is most noticeable; people often say they wish they were there.
Kelly Rossetti is a contemporary abstract and figurative painter based in Westport, Connecticut. While primarily self-taught, she studied classical oil painting at a small Atelier in New York City, to which she credits the development of her foundation and love of the figure. Kelly works in both acrylic and oil paint, and often utilizes an array of mixed media to achieve depth, texture and marks. "Whether it be loose and expressive figurative drawings or expressive paintings, I strive to capture an emotion that is evoked by viewing the work," Kelly says.
"In this show, we see two differing art styles converge," Sorelle Gallery owner, Sandy Pelletier says. "But what makes them different is why they work well together - the complement of warm and cool tones, of energetic strokes and soft execution. They offer variation that together, result in a type of peacefulness that is difficult to achieve. We're so pleased to show these two accomplished artists together this summer."
No RSVP is required to attend the opening Reception or the show while it is on view.
